Love At First Sight Eyeliner

You’ve heard the saying “love at first sight”, right ? Do you believe it? Well, there is more truth in that saying they most people realize. Our eyes are the most important feature on our face. We use our eyes to communicate with other people long before we get close enough to actually have a conversation. Our eyes communicate in many ways such as when we are happy, sad, angry or surprised. We engage people with our eyes and often times our first impression of people is influenced simply by looking someone in the eyes. The saying “love at first sight” is a prime example why our eyes are so important when interacting with other people. Women especially use their eyes to attract attention to their femininity utilizing eye shadow to brighten their eyes, mascara to thicken their lashes and eyeliner to frame the eyes so they appear more inviting and animated. Today, women and men are using permanent eyeliner, which does not smudge or wash away in the shower, while swimming or getting caught in the rain, to enhance their eyes permanently. Permanent eyeliner eliminates the fuss and mess of traditional eyeliner and allows you to keep that alluring quality of sexy youthful eyes.

Age Defying Eyeliner

Eyeliner is probably the best age defiant cosmetic procedure available today and has been for many years. Eyeliner has been in style longer than any other garment or hairstyle. In fact, permanent eyeliner has been used for thousands of years. The Egyptians used primitive forms of permanent cosmetics to enhance the appearance of their eyes using a bamboo shoot to permanently apply black eyeliner around their eyes. Permanent eyeliner stays where traditional eye liner cannot – between the eye lashes. This cosmetic technique thickens the appearance of the eye lashes and enhances the eye with a natural frame and gives the illusion of a younger more youthful eye.

Eyelash Enhancement

Permanent eyeliner color is applied using an applicator specifically designed for permanent make up tattooing. This instrument provides the highest degree of control for fine detailed work around the eyes. The permanent eyeliner pigment is applied along the upper and lower eyelash margin (in between the eyelashes) that simulates fuller, thicker and darker eyelashes. This is called eyelash enhancement and is so natural looking the only thing you notice is a fuller eyelash.

Permanent Eyeliner Designs

Once you have had the eyelash enhancement you may want a more dramatic eyeline design in which case the permanent eyeliner color is placed in between the lashes and above the lashes. If you are not sure which look you prefer we highly recommend a conservative approach. A more natural line can be applied during your initial visit. Later, if you decide to increase the thickness and/or darken your liner we can do that during your follow-up/touchup visit (within 4-6 weeks). During our consultation I will discuss with you the types of permanent eyeliner designs available to you and which styles best suits your needs, your eyes and your age.

Top Eyeliner Designs

When considering a permanent cosmetic top eyeliner design, the best choice for the long term is pigment placed in and directly above the lash line. This design also gives the most options for using topical makeup for special occasions when a more dramatic appearance is desired. Often mature women feel wider eyeliner on the upper eyelids will compensate for the faltering affects of excess eyelid skin. If eyelid surgery in the future is a possibility, the removal of the excess skin will cause a wide eyeliner to appear even wider. If conservative eyeliner enhancements and top liners close to the top eyelashes are applied, your permanent cosmetic top eyeliner should not pose any challenges for a cosmetic surgeon.

Lower Eyeliner Designs

The same principles apply to the lower eyeliner, however there are several surgical technique options that could have an effect on lower eyeliners. Keep your design conservative and placement directly beneath the lower eyelashes. If in doubt, work with your client’s surgeon to determine the best method of proceeding. As the skin in that area ages, your lower eyeliner will remain in its original placement. In the event surgical removal of excess skin beneath the eye is elected, depending on the technique utilized, at the most, you may need a touch-up to restore the integrity of the original design.

Permanent Eyeliner For Men

Permanent eyeliner is not just for women. Men are having permanent eyeliner applied to their eyes too and together with fuller thicker eyebrows the permanent eyeliner complements their looks for a more sexy youthful appearance. For men, a very soft lash line enhancement is offered. Just a subtle addition of color is dotted around the lash line giving the eyes a ‘dreamy,’ sexy appearance. Stop, Look & Listen Before Choosing Your Permanent Cosmetic Specialist

In the hands of a skilled person, gorgeous defined eyes and delicate eyelash enhancement is your answer if you are tired of the messy traditional eyeliner makeup. Permanent Eyeliner and Eyelash Enhancement Procedures

The procedure takes approximately 2 hours of which the tattooing takes about 1 hour. Topical anesthetic is applied to desensitize the lids and make the procedure more comfortable. Immediately, after the procedure your eyelids will be puffy and slightly red around the tattooed area. The amount of swelling varies from client to client but usually everyone leaves looking as if they’ve had a good cry. Your permanent eyeliner will appear thicker and darker initially. As the area heals you’ll notice some of the color (scabs) flaking off which usually occurs during the first week. This is normal and to be expected.
